Taylor Swift Graces the Cover of ELLE Magazine
ELLE’s April 2010 cover girl is Taylor Swift! The issue hits stands on March 16 and promises more glamorous photos and a revealing interview. This is just the latest in an ongoing streak of high profile covers. Over the past couple years Taylor has graced the covers of People, Rolling Stone, Allure, In Style, Glamour, Blender, Women’s Health, Seventeen, Country Weekly, and the list goes on… You can see more photos from the shoot and get a taste of the interview at elle.com. Here’s an excerpt of the online interview where Taylor shares her take…

On who she thinks is hot: “Um, well…Taylor Lautner.”
On whether she’s really “fearless”: “I overthink everything. I overanalyze everything.”
On one of her biggest fears: “Me making a bunch of bad decisions and embarking on a painful, slow, devastating tailspin.”

Josh Turner Keeps Dancing at the Top of the Charts
Josh Turner is on a roll and dancing all the way to No. 1, again. For the fourth week in a row, Josh’s smash hit “Why Don’t We Just Dance” remains at the top of the Billboard Country Songs chart. And his recently released album Haywire is second only to Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now on the album chart.

In related news, Josh recently announced that he’ll be joining Alan Jackson on his upcoming “Freight Train Tour” set to leave the station on April 8, making its first stop in Estero, FL. “I am really looking forward to sharing the stage with Alan, he has always been one of my musical heroes and I know we will be playing for a great group of country music fans during this tour,” Josh told fans in a post on his website last week.

Lady Antebellum’s “Need You Now” on New Now
This was quite a week for Lady Antebellum’s recent monster hit “Need You Now.” The title was announced as a finalist for Single Record, Song and Video of the Year in the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, leading Lady A to the head of the pack with seven nominations total.
In addition, “Need You Now” has been tabbed for the next edition of a major pop CD series. It’s being included among 21 songs on Now That’s What I Call Music! 33, which comes out March 23.

Go Behind the Scenes with Reba & Blake
In case you missed it, the nominees for the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards show were announced yesterday by Reba McEntire & Blake Shelton during a special segment on the CBS program, The Early Show. Reba and Blake not only announced the nominees but were also honored with nominations themselves — Reba for Top Female Vocalist of the Year, and Blake for Vocal Event of the Year for his duet with Trace Adkins, “Hillbilly Bone.“ The ACM Awards will air live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Sunday, April 8 at p.m. ET (delayed PT) on CBS and will be hosted by Reba for the 12th time.

country newsKenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert: Stars React to ACM Nominations
What to wear. What to do in Las Vegas. When to travel. What to say if you win. Tuesday’s nominations for the 45th annual Academy of Country Music Awards presented a whole host of issues and questions for the likes of Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert and Darius Rucker. Not that any of them are complaining. An ACM nod represents recognition from their peers and the possibility of getting valuable television exposure. Plus, there’s always the possibility of bringing home some hardware for the trophy case.

country newsMarty Raybon Joins Rascal Flatts in the Spotlight
A mass of performers descended on downtown Nashville last week during the Country Radio Seminar to thank programmers for playing their music — and to remind the radio folks that there’s more music on the way. One guy who benefited greatly from that opportunity was former Shenandoah vocalist Marty Raybon, who not only got a last-minute moment on a big stage but also picked up some unexpected appreciation in the room.
Marty’s got a new album, At His Best, slated for release this spring, so he showed up at the Renaissance Nashville Hotel to do interviews and greet people at the record company’s suite. But CRS also turned into a sort of old-home week as he ran into a bunch of executives that he worked with regularly when Shenandoah was on RCA in the 1990s. One of those execs, Dale Turner, told Marty that his buddies in Rascal Flatts were doing a tenth-anniversary show, and the wheels started turning.
